REFRESH, RENEW AND REFUEL: Radiating Excellence

 Physically

I have been guilty of being physically critical of myself but finding it difficult to make improvements, Yes, anything worth pursuing takes Sacrifice. And most days the sacrifice seemed way too big and too hard especially when it meant giving up Sugar. After several years of routinely fueling my body with healthy foods and giving up the beloved sugar-filled sweets; I feel great.

“Don’t you realize that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit, who lives in you and was given to you by God?” 1 Corinthians 6:19 NLT

It’s imperative that you take care of your body. It is absolutely the only one you’ll get on this earth. So let’s live to the max and feel good while doing it!

Three Simple Nutritional Keys to A HEALTHY YOU

1. Stay hydrated…drink 64oz of water daily. (or half your weight in ounces of water per day) Measure your intake. Many times we feel hungry so we eat when we should be going for the water bottle because we are actually dehydrated.

Try drinking only water;  infusion water is the best ( I love adding lemon or lime, cucumber, orange slice, or several strawberries) and of course a cup of coffee in the morning.

2. Choose Whole Foods with lots of color. Focus on fruits, vegetables and whole grains. Also our bodies need a modest amount of protein to function well. (5-7 oz daily depending on age and level of activity)

 I love my smoothies!

3. DO NOT SKIP MEALS: Breakfast being your largest meal, Lunch being a moderate-size meal and Dinner being a lite bite especially if you are choosing to loose weight. Recently dietitians suggest drinking water 30 minutes before and 30 minutes after meals and not during the meal. They suggest that it allows for digestive enzymes to process the food effectively resulting in the body benefiting from the antioxidants and nutrients that the whole foods provide.

I choose to eat smaller portions eating 6 times daily.

REFRESH, RENEW AND REFUEL: Radiating Excellence

EXCELLENCE WITH SIMPLE ELEGANCE

“For most women, the way you look can greatly affect how you feel.”                   p 120 the study

God’s goodness should overflow and shine outwardly from us. God has called us to reflect His image.

But what happens when we live God’s way? He brings gifts into our lives, much the same way that fruit appears in an orchard—things like affection for others, exuberance about life, serenity. We develop a willingness to stick with things, a sense of compassion in the heart, and a conviction that a basic holiness permeates things and people. We find ourselves involved in loyal commitments, not needing to force our way in life, able to marshal and direct our energies wisely.

It is so important that we women bring the elegance, tenderness, and simplicity of womanhood to our world. We are to be a reflection of the image of God radiating His love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness and self-control.

REFRESH, RENEW AND REFUEL: Be Intentional

Excellence with Simple Elegance

“Many times we women feel like our lives have no purpose or focus. The demands of life leave us feeling unfulfilled–discontented even. We feel that we’re meeting everyone else’s needs–our parents’, our children’s, and our spouse’s–but our own needs aren’t met.” p 33

The only one who can change this lack of fulfillment and contentment in you is You! Today decide to intentionally live with focus and purpose. Make a plan. Arise early. Spend time in God’s Word. Pray for guidance and strength. Exercise. Properly fuel your body with healthy nutritional food.

Then go about your day loving and serving the ones you love with an Overflowing Cup.

You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies;
You anoint my head with oil;
My cup runs over.”  Psalm 23:5

Let Your Pursuit be Excellence.

REFRESH, RENEW AND REFUEL: Resilience

Successful Women Think Differently

“Today, scientific research is proving what ancient Scripture has known all along: Successful women think differently than the average woman. They make decisions differently, set goals differently, and bounce back from failure and adversity differently. Their thought process empowers them to produce the results they want — in their relationships, finances, work, health, and spiritual lives.” (Called Magazine)

Successful women are Resilient.

The 5 Characteristics of a Resilient Woman

You can change your life by simply changing the way you think!

 Brave and Courageous

Resilient women are at peace with who they are.

1 Peter 3:4 rather let it be the hidden person of the heart, with the incorruptible beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is very precious in the sight of God.

They have been humbled and have accepted their own vulnerability in life experiences. Their imperfections don’t stop them. Resilient women possess a spirit of willingness to learn from their mistakes and make corrections that lead to excellent outcomes.

 Use Good Judgement

Resilient women notice when their thinking is negative and counterproductive.

They don’t jump to conclusions or make assumptions. They find out the facts and confront challenges head on. They focus on what’s within their control and work diligently for more than earthly gain.

Colossians 3:23 And whatever you do, do it heartily, as to the Lord and not to men.

Optimistic

Resilient women see the value in positive thinking.

They always see the bright side; knowing that optimism is good for their overall health. Their hopeful positive attitude is deeply rooted in their faith. Resilient women believe that something good is possible even when faced with challenges.

Jeremiah 29:11 For I know the plans I have for you, says the Lord. They are plans for good and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.

Resourceful

Resilient women don’t go it alone.

They are not too proud to ask for help. They have been wise in developing relationships with others who are influential and productive. In the midst of crazy chaotic moments, they have also learned to draw inner strength from their Heavenly Father.

Proverbs 3:5 Trust in the Lord with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding.

Aware of Their Talents

Resilient women don’t waste time worrying what they don’t have.

Instead, they have recognized their talents and passionately spend time developing them into strengths. God has given each of us natural talents, so don’t overlook or under utilize yours.

Psalm 28:8 God is all strength for His people.

Resilient women recognize that God’s presence gives confidence to handle all of life’s responsibilities.
